Claims Adjuster I / II / Senior Claims Adjuster

Level and compensation dependent upon qualifications and experience.

The North Dakota Insurance Reserve Fund (NDIRF) is seeking applicants for a Claims Adjuster position. This position may be filled at the Claims Adjuster I, Claims Adjuster II, or Senior Claims Adjuster level depending on the selected candidate’s qualifications, experience, professional background, and demonstrated claims-handling abilities.

The NDIRF is a public entity risk pool providing liability and property coverages to North Dakota political subdivisions and public entities. Claims handled may involve automobile liability, general liability, employment-related matters, public entity exposures, property losses, litigation management, and other governmental liability issues.

The successful candidate will assist with the investigation, evaluation, negotiation, documentation, and resolution of assigned claims. Responsibilities may include claim investigation, reserve analysis, coverage review, litigation coordination, communication with members and counsel, field inspections, and claim resolution activities.

Candidates with a broad range of experience levels are encouraged to apply. Relevant experience may include:

  • claims adjusting;
  • insurance or risk management;
  • litigation support or legal practice;
  • governmental operations;
  • public entity claims;
  • property or casualty insurance; or
  • other related professional experience.

Compensation, responsibilities, and authority level will vary depending on the position level ultimately assigned.

Professional designations such as AIC, CPCU, AINS, SCLA, or related credentials are desirable but not required.
