Director of Underwriting

Underwriting Support Specialist

The Underwriting Support Specialist at the North Dakota Insurance Reserve Fund (NDIRF) plays a key role in delivering reliable administrative support to the underwriting team. This position is responsible for handling policy renewals and endorsements, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring smooth communication with agents to process timely and accurate coverage. The specialist collaborates closely with underwriters and may step in to assist with underwriting processes or serve as a backup during absences. The role also involves tracking supplies and managing document scanning and data entry related to premium processing.

Ideal candidates will have at least a two-year degree and two years of relevant experience, along with strong communication, organizational, and typing skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general office equipment is essential, and the ability to maintain professionalism under pressure is critical. Additional duties include serving as a backup receptionist and providing quality service to NDIRF members and the general public. The position requires attention to detail, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to adapt to a dynamic office environment.

Marketing and Communications Specialist

The Marketing and Communications Specialist at the North Dakota Insurance Reserve Fund (NDIRF) is responsible for assisting with the development and execution of strategic marketing and communication initiatives that effectively promote the organization’s brand, services, and goals. Working under the guidance of the Director of Member Services, this role collaborates with internal teams and external partners to ensure consistent messaging across all channels. Key duties include managing digital strategies, overseeing the NDIRF’s web presence, preparing publications, and producing a wide range of promotional materials. The position also includes organizing event support, managing vendor relationships, and conducting market research to assess the effectiveness of communication efforts.

The ideal candidate possesses a bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field, coupled with three to four years of relevant experience. Strong writing, organizational, and interpersonal skills are essential, along with proficiency in industry-standard software such as Adobe Creative Cloud and Microsoft Office. The role demands initiative, creativity, and a collaborative spirit to drive the NDIRF’s member-focused communications strategy. Flexibility to travel and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment are also important attributes for success in this position.
